Believe it or not, Maine does have real caves!

Here are some photos taken in Allagash Ice Cave, the longest known fissure cave in New England.
A strange, translucent mushroom. 25-foot climb down to lower rooms. The entrance in winter. Lower entrance.
To the left is Enchanted Cave, one of three known series of solution caves in the state. Marble Cave is another solutional cave. This is a mapping session. Anemone Sea cave is on the coast of Mt. Desert Island, but you won't find it on tourist maps.
